Sam is a Japanese American artist from California’s South Bay, currently pursuing a BFA at the Rhode Island School of Design. Working primarily in painting, her practice explores identity, memory, and the abstraction of human experience across mediums.

Her work explores the gap between what is remembered and imagined, examining how words, silence, and personal histories shape understanding and connection.

Her practice invites introspection and dialogue about the stories we tell and the narratives that shape our lives.
